Here are 4 ways you can harness its range of beneficial properties for your skin.

Capilano Active Manuka Honey Skincare

1.  Straight from the jar

Beauty routines don’t need to be complicated. Make the most of the antibacterial properties of Active Manuka honey by applying it directly onto damp skin. If you’re not in the mood to do a full mask, simply dab some on as a spot treatment, and let the anti-inflammatory actives go to work. Wash off with warm water after 15 minutes and follow up with a moisturiser for best results.

2. As a bath soak

We’ve all heard of using oatmeal in a bath to soothe upset skin. Next time you’re filling up the tub add 1 cup of oats (oatmeal) and ¼ cup (90g) of Capilano Active Manuka honey. Not only will you smell great, but the skin-soothing properties of the oats and the hydrating power of the honey will leave your skin calm and quenched.

To create your own DIY Active Manuka Honey lip balm, simply warm one tablespoon of honey with three tablespoons of coconut oil or Shea butter (available from health food stores) until just melted, then pour into a sanitised container and refrigerate overnight, voilà!

 4. Combined with Matcha for a soothing face mask
