5 Foods To Boost Your Daily Energy Levels

Feeling a little flat? Why not add a few of these natural foods into your daily diet to help give you a little extra buzz and sustained energy release throughout the day.

Avocado for Healthy Fats

Healthy fats found in avocado are great for keeping you feeling fuller for longer and minimising energy drops across the day.

You could even add some variety to your avo’ toast repertoire by experimenting with toppings such as fetta, chilli, crushed pistachios or even a squeeze of bioactive Manuka honey for an extra healthy buzz!

Chia for Fiber

Low energy and fatigue can sometimes be a sign of an unhappy gut, so have a look at how you can incorporate more fiber into your diet. Chia seeds naturally contain antioxidants, minerals, fiber, and omega-3 fatty acids, all helpful nutrients for your gut. Our coconut chia porridge recipe is a delicious way to add extra fiber into your daily breakfast or snack routine, and you can simply top it with fresh berries and energy boosting Capilano Manuka honey when ready to eat.

COCONUT & MANUKA CHIA PORRIDGE

  1. Combine ¼ cup chia seeds, 1 ½ cups coconut milk, 1 tablespoon Capilano Manuka honey and a splash of vanilla extract in a bowl and whisk to combine.
  2. Cover and place bowl in fridge overnight to set.
  3. To serve, loosen with a little coconut milk or milk, then spoon into a cup and add berries and an extra drizzle of Manuka honey.

Rolled Oats for Sustained Energy

A powerhouse of the cereal world, rolled oats are rich in a type of soluble fibre called beta-glucan, which helps with gut health and cholesterol levels. Adding more oats into your diet will not only help you feel fuller (and more energetic) across the day, but you’ll reap the gut and overall health rewards too. We love ours with a handful of antioxidant rich berries, a scoop of gut-loving probiotic yoghurt and a squeeze of Capilano Manuka honey for an extra buzz.

Lemon Water for Hydration

Simple, but effective. Dehydration can cause feelings of tiredness and changes in mood – so hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

A refreshing to start your morning could be a glass of warm water filled with zingy lemon and a squeeze of bioactive Manuka honey. While not quite breakfast, you’ll kick off your day hydrated and energised for the morning rush. You could even take a couple of moments to do a mindful meditation or gently stretch while you sip, enhancing your sense of inner calm and taming that frazzled feeling!

Berries for Antioxidants

Does your fruit and veg intake need a little work? Upping your intake of berries such as blueberries, raspberries and strawberries is an easy way to increase your vitamin, mineral intake. If you ever find you’re low on appetite (a common cause of fatigue), or time to eat, blitzing up a berry smoothie full of yoghurt, nut butter, oats and bioactive manuka honey is a sure fire way to keep your body, and energy levels happy.

(Bonus) Breakfast for the best start!

Consider this your friendly reminder to have breakfast, if you can. Starting your day with whole foods is one of the best ways to fight the ‘blahs’ and give you a spring in your step. It doesn’t need to be fancy – we still come back to the classics for nourishing comfort, day after day.
